If you own or manage a bookstore in California, we urge you to join CALIBA. The Alliance is a remarkable resource for connecting to and learning from other booksellers, publishers and authors, and for staying on top of the industry at large while maintaining a particular focus on aspects most crucial to independent bookselling throughout California.
Voting membership is open to any individual member of the independent retail bookselling community whose primary place of business is a storefront location in California – one vote per company.

Membership runs from January 1, 2021 - December 31, 2021 and is considered to have lapsed April 1, 2021. It is open to all California independent brick-and-mortar bookstores and includes:

New for 2021! Rebates of your membership dues will be issued in December with your store's participation in CALIBA's consumer marketing campaigns.
We welcome online and pop-up bookstores as well. Except for voting rights, your store will have access to all other bookstore benefits.
