Fall Catalog & Marketing Program 2020
Why the Marketing Campaign?
|
The catalog inserted into newspapers definitely brought people into our store. ... people mentioned it, and I know it drove some online sales too." - Shoshana Smith, Flashlight Books, Walnut Creek Green Apple Books, San Francisco - This catalog is just one more effective way to bring readers into our stores and to put advertised books into more readers hands. |
Shelf Awareness' emails in conjunction with the California Holiday Catalog were very fruitful for us. We had a customer say it was the "best email we've ever sent" and many customers called or came in looking for the books. Because we're small and mostly used, we didn't have everything on hand, but we were able to do special orders from Ingram which gave them an excuse to come to the store again. So thank you, and we're excited to participate again next year.” - Mimi Hannan, La Playa Books, San Diego
Books Inc., San Francisco - For us, the value is for the non-regulars the catalog brings in. Books Inc., Alameda - I have customers each year who use it as a shopping list. It's often marked up (For John, For Melody, For Dad) and handed to us with the question, "Do you have these in stock?" |
Gallery Books, Mendocino - We increase our frontlist buy right off the bat, starting with at least double the amount we'd otherwise buy. Mountain Bookshop, Sonora - We see people walking in the store with it. They have marked books they want and ask the staff to get them for them. |
Pegasus Books (3 stores), Berkeley/Oakland - We ordered several titles we might not otherwise have carried and they sold well.
