CALIBA produces an annual Spring Workshop—a daylong program which includes a variety of sessions dealing with topics of concern to our members. Additional workshops and seminars are also presented at our annual Fall Discovery Lab
CALIBA Spring Workshop San Francisco 2020 Canceled.
Out of respect for state and local mandates but more so out of concern for the safety and well being of our invited authors, publishing partners, and our valued members, the California Independent Booksellers Alliance Spring Workshop/ABA Forum in San Francisco on Sunday, March 29th is canceled.
We feel fortunate to have been able to host a successful Spring Workshop/ABA Forum in San Diego and will look for other ways to bring our membership together and closer to our prized authors and publishing partners during this new and challenging time. To that end, CALIBA plans to host a town hall in San Francisco later this Spring. Please watch for the timing and details in a forthcoming CALIBA Newsletter or as always at caliballiance.org.
Any author confirmed for the Spring Workshop will be given placement priority should they be proposed for a spot at the CALIBA Discovery Lab, our Fall Tradeshow at the South San Francisco Conference Center on September 23-25th, or the LA Area Fall Workshop (tbd). Call for authors will go out soon.
CALIBA thanks our Sponsors for their immense support in our Spring Workshops: Ingram, Simon and Schuster, Beach Lane, BINC, Hachette, Macmillan, our fantastic California Field Reps, San Diego Central Library, and the Tides Foundation at the Presidio SF. We also want to express our gratitude to all the publicists who submitted and confirmed authors for our Spring events.
Stay well,
Calvin Crosby Ann Seaton CALIBA Board of Directors
