These mailings include a store-branded landing page with a unique URL specific to your store, making it easy to share the entire list on your website and through social media. CALIBA will create a QR code using this URL for even easier sharing upon request.

The Book Industry Charitable (Binc) Foundation will accept applications for the second cohort of BincTank, its business incubator pilot program to support BIPOC-owned retail bookselling businesses that are physically located in their community, Oct. 13-Nov. 10, 2024. The application will be available at https://www.bincfoundation.org/binctank/.

TIPS FOR USING THE HOLIDAY CATALOG

CALIBA creates the Holiday Catalog to help booksellers sell books and support the organization. With the help of the other regionals, we have compiled a list of ideas for making the most of your holiday catalog that you can find here.

Catalog tip from Underground Books in Carollton, GA: Personal outreach! "Last year, we sent copies with handwritten notes to our top 20-30 or so Bookshop.org buyers." They put a QR code with their Bookshop page with the catalog.

APPLY NOW: CHILDREN'S INSTITUTE 2025 SCHOLARSHIP

Children's Institute 2025. Portland, Oregon. June 12-14, 2025.

Children’s Institute 2025 will take place

June 12–14, in Portland, OR.

Scholarship recipients receive waived event fees to in-person Children’s Institute, a comped hotel room during the Institute, and up to $600 reimbursement for travel to and from the Institute.

ABA HOLIDAY CAMPAIGN: SIMPLIFY THE SEASON

The ABA has introduced their holiday campaign, Simplify the Season: Shop Indie. Shop Local

This campaign invites readers to Simplify the Season by choosing to shop local. When readers shop at your indie bookstore, you’re giving more than just a book — you’re giving the gift of community, creativity, and connection!

Simplify the Season social media assets are now available on BookWeb, along with recommended language for newsletters and social media posts!
