Thanks to the generosity of booksellers and publishers who have supported the Glenn Goldman Fund, CALIBA is able to offer a scholarship to ABA's Winter Institute, February 23-26th, 2025 in Denver, Colorado.

If selected, CALIBA will cover up to five nights at the Sheraton Grand Hotel, up to $500 travel allowance and the registration fee for Winter Institute.

CALIBA IS LOOKING FOR A PART-TIME TEAM MEMBER!

The California Independent Booksellers Alliance is looking for a new part-time team member who is passionate about books and the continued success of Independent Bookstores in California. This role is designed to support the Executive Director and Operations Manager in the running of the office, primarily, but not limited to, CALIBA Marketing and Communications.

Pay is $25 an hour with an average of 20-25 hours per week. Hours flex with office needs, but significantly increase leading up to and during the three yearly in-person conferences.

We know that travel is costly, so CALIBA is offering reimbursements for booksellers that traveled to the show! CALIBA is offering: $25 travel reimbursement, $50 hotel reimbursement, $17 parking reimbursement. Click here for more details and to request travel assistance.

CALIBA is happy to be congratulating all of our booksellers who became Certified via the Professional Booksellers School in 2024. Each course is designed and taught by experienced booksellers, with in-depth learning and rigorous homework demands. You can see all of our Certified Booksellers here.

As a reminder, CALIBA will also reimburse booksellers for the completion and certification of PBS courses (excluding Independent study).
