MERCHANT AND ASSOCIATION OBJECTION TO PROPOSED SETTLEMENT ON VISA/
MASTERCARD SWIPE FEES

"We are still seeking sign-ons for our letter objecting to the proposed settlement in MDL-1720, and the deadline for signatories is September 1, 2026.

As a reminder, the court's decision on final approval could significantly affect merchants' ability to pursue future claims, so broad participation matters. Our objection explains why the settlement fails to adequately protect merchants, including:

  • The proposed liability release is overly broad.
  • The relief provided to merchants is wholly insufficient given the scope of the claims being released.

The full letter and sign-on form are available here.

Warwick's Photo

"When in San Diego, it’s hard to make the wrong choice in things to do! You can head to the cove in La Jolla and see some seals before hitting the beach yourself, head to snapdragon stadium to see the San Diego Wave show the soccer world how its done, or grab a book and listen to the Spreckles organ at Balboa park."
