2026 FALL FEST BOOKSELLER SCHOLARSHIP

We are rewarding 2 CALIBA members to cover the travel stipend of $750 to attend the 2026 Fall Fest.

Applications close July 31st

Please note, if you previously applied for the CALIBA x BINC Scholarship you are automatically entered into this scholarship application and don't need to take any further action.

Understanding Publisher Cooperative Advertising (Coop)

Wednesday, July 8th at 12pm PDT

Join Stephanie Schindhelm, Marketing & Promotions Manager for the Boulder Book Store in Boulder, Colorado, as she walks stores through "Coop 101" to answer the questions: What is coop marketing? Join our monthly office hours (fourth Thursdays) to co-work with Hannah! Have a question, idea, or comment about a CALIBA program? Office hours are a great chance for you to check in directly with your Executive Director. Click here to register for a morning session (9-10am) or afternoon session (2-3pm) — or email Hannah to set up an appointment.

BINC'S 30TH ANNIVERSARY FUNDRAISER Unlock $5,000 for Book and Comic People.   Macmillan Publishers is generously donating $100 for each new monthly donor, for the next 50 donors.  That means a gift of: $10/month = $120 + $100 = $220 annually $20/month = $240 + $100 = $340 annually $30/month = $360 + $100 = $460 annually

LIBROMOBILE IS HOSTING THE OC BOOKSELLERS CLUB QUARTERLY MEETING - SATURDAY, JULY 11TH, 8:30AM-10AM

"Let’s be good neighbors and talk books, sip coffee/tea, and share ideas! Join a community of passionate booksellers in Orange County and participate in supportive discussions. All booksellers in OC are welcome: Indie Bookstores, Indie Authors and Publishers, and Pop-up Book Vendors."

1 - Dandar’s Boardgames and Books, in Arcata, are in their new space and thanking the community for their help with the move! 2 - Wild Sisters Book Co, in Sacramento, gave a little tour of their second location, before their Grand Opening last weekend.  3 - DBZ Books & Records, in Pomona, opened their second location with a ribbon cutting alongside the Pomona Chamber of Commerce,  4 - Underdog Bookstore, in Monrovia, and their Board President, Kealie Mardell-Carrera, were recognized at the State Capitol by the LGBTQ Caucus for creating a community space in San Gabriel Valley. 5 - Caspian Books, in Tracy, celebrating the freedom to read with their window display and bringing more attention to banned books.  6 - Bookshop West Portal, in San Francisco, is ready for the official start of Where’s Waldo.  7 - Bookshop Santa Cruz introduced their YA summer reading program “Top 5 Takeover.” 8 - Moonstone & Mist Bookshop, in Redondo Beach, has taken their silent reading book club to the sand.
